Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing

How We Help

EMDR was originally created to help alleviate the stress connected to traumatic memories. It involves eye movement while you process memories to relieve PTSD, depression, anxiety, and other mental health symptoms that are the result of a traumatic occurrence in your past.

EMDR is specifically known for its success in treating Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). However, as the years have progressed, EMDR therapy has expanded to include treatment for many other mental health conditions, such as depression, addiction and substance use disorders.

EMDR enables you to heal from the symptoms of emotional distress resulting from disturbing life experiences.  It focuses on changing the emotions, thoughts, or behaviors that come from a distressing experience.  It allows your brain to resume a natural healing process.

EMDR is an individual therapy that meets in person at our office in Bedminster, New Jersey.  We also offer EMDR through telehealth throughout New Jersey, making it simple to get started.
