Attachment-Based Therapy
How We Help
Attachment-Based Therapy (ABT) explores how an individual's early childhood interactions with parents, caregivers, and/or trusted adults have impacted their emotional and social development.

When our sense of safety and trust as a child is disrupted or missing, it can negatively impact our ability to form emotional bonds as we grow up. As a result, we can develop protective behaviors that further impacts our ability, including emotionally withdrawing, people-pleasing, becoming hyper independent, or developing a fear of abandonment.
In individual or group sessions, we explore where these behaviors come from in your past to help you find a sense of safety and trust in your present. This approach will help you build secure attachment styles
in your relationships that will lead to positive outcomes (emotional regulation and development, meaningful connections, conflict resoluotion, etc.).
At Prime, our goal is to help you develop a stronger sense of confidence and trust that you can bring into your relationships with yourself and others outside of your therapy sessions. ABT is often encouraged for individuals who have experienced a negative or traumetic childhood. However, it can be beneficial for anyone who is struggling to create deep connections with others.
