Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

How We Help

Your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all deeply connected.  Understanding their connection is what Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is all about.  As an evidence-based approach, it helps you to understand the connection and helps you change how you feel and behave in response to your thoughts, even in stressful or triggering situations.

Many of our thoughts are automatic, meaning they come into our minds quickly and can affect how we feel and act towards ourselves and others, often without us realizing it. CBT helps you identify these automatic thought patterns (self-criticism, catastrophic thinking, etc.) and understand where they may be coming from.

As you become more aware of your thoughts, this approach will equip you with coping skills that will teach you how to respond to your thoughts in ways that will reduce emotional distress and help you feel more in control.

Here at Prime, we use CBT to help you navigate your life with more confidence and clarity. Our goal is to help you remain in control of your thoughts both in and outside of therapy, no matter what kind of thoughts you may be having! CBT can be helpful for anyone seeking guidance on how to manage their emotions and handle conflict.  It can be especially helpful for individuals experiencing high-stress levels, burnout, overwhelm, dysregulation, or other mood-related challenges.
