Group Therapy

PRIME specializes in group therapy.
We pride ourselves in offering an array of groups that target specific needs.
Our fully licensed staff facilitates each group and specializes in the modalities of DBT, LQBTQ+ Affirmative Therapy, Meditation, and Yoga. Our peer groups learn skills to process emotions and life situations and support each other through one's therapeutic journey.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy
Prime Therapy offers an outpatient DBT group for various ages and populations. DBT group is a place where individuals interact with peers to enhance their learning experience. Our clinicians teach various skills from the DBT modules of Distress Tolerance, Emotional Regulation, Mindfulness, and Interpersonal Effectiveness. In addition, we teach walking the middle path, help increase self-awareness, and guide the emotional regulation process. Group members will receive a skills training binder filled with worksheets, weekly skills practice guides, and various other approaches like art, music, movement, meditation, and more. We practice these skills to connect the core concepts of DBT to each individual's goals, priorities, and values, whether it be to address our anxiety and depression, or to have better relationships with family and friends. Each group practices these skills at different levels to match their current experience in life.

Adolescent DBT Group: ages 15-18 on Thursdays at 4:30 pm
Young Adult DBT Group: ages 18-24 on Thursdays at 6:00 pm
Adult DBT Group: ages 25 and up on Mondays at 6:00 pm
Parent Dialectical Behavior Therapy
We know parents need support. Our Parent DBT Group offers just that. Come join other parents to process the challenges of raising a family, as well as celebrate the joys and wins of parenthood. Our clinicians guide you to process emotions, find resolutions for family dynamic conflicts, and understand you are not alone. As a member, you have the opportunity to learn DBT skills, whether it be for yourself, or to better understand your child’s therapeutic journey. You will utilize these skills to understand yourself and to better manage life at home.

LGBTQ+ Group
This group is open to anyone who identifies as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning, or any other identification. Our clinicians provide a safe space for you to explore and express your gender and sexuality without the fear of judgment or shame. Each group member will learn skills that will ease anxiety and depression and help cope with discrimination, oppression, trauma, and abuse. Prime is a place to feel empowered and embrace your authentic self. Joining this group will allow you to be more confident in your identity, gain support and insight from your peers, and be successful in every area of your life. The connections made in this group can have a positive and lasting effect.
We also offer family counseling to help families communicate safely, learn acceptance, and provide a space for support.
High School: ages 15 - 18, Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 4:30 p.m.
Adult: 18+, Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m.
Learning the Art of Meditation
Meditation is a way to help us come into the least excited state of being. Meditation helps us to regulate our emotions, like becoming more patient with ourselves and others. It helps us regulate our body responses from flight and flight to calm and peaceful. In this group, we will cover all aspects of meditation and guide you through the meditation practice. The main concepts are relaxation, breathing, awareness, and focus. This is an inner journey to bring you into a peaceful state within both body and mind.
