How We Help

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) helps you learn to control your mind rather than letting it control you, and to accept yourself while at the same time knowing and wanting to change.  DBT skills are actually life skills.​

 

At Prime Therapy, our step-by-step DBT approach, using the Prime DBT Workbook, teaches you skills that will enhance mindfulness, learn distress tolerance, understand emotion regulation, and address relationship effectiveness.

Accepting your experiences, rather than suppressing and avoiding them, will help you accomplish your goals and improve your overall mental health.​

Drawing upon our many years of experience, we've developed our own DBT Skills Guide that you'll use during your sessions. 

We offer DBT in individual sessions and in our outpatient weekly DBT group sessions for adolescents, young adults, and adults. As you reflect on your mental health, your struggles, and your family dynamics, we help you understand and normalize what you are going through. Our therapists work with you to both build and learn effective coping skills and strategies that can make your everyday life into what you deserve.

Bedminster Office:  We're located 1 block from the Far Hills train station, directly across from Grace Chapel.  Free parking is available in the lot on the left side of the building. Take the stairs to Suite 300 where you'll find a comfortable space to relax as you wait for your therapist to greet you.

In-Person & Telehealth Options: 
In-person sessions take place in our Bedminster, New Jersey office. ​​​ Telehealth for remote individual sessions is also a convenient option.​​​
