MEET JACQUELINE

As a Clinical Mental Health Counselor, my goal is to provide others with the sources and tools to connect to their inner power. Allowing clients to gain control of their thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Through the therapeutic process, we focus on the strengths of each individual to encourage healthy habits and to build new skills to take into the world.

For the past three years I have been working with the adolescent population in a residential care setting, where we provide access to a therapeutic environment and trauma informed care. This experience has deepened my knowledge and understanding of Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), chronic Depression, Bi-Polar disorder and Trauma. I am currently seeking certification in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to better facilitate change for clients.

Over the last 10 years I have been working with both adolescents and adults in the mental health field. My passion is to help children and families have a better understanding of each other. Part of my approach is derived from my Nurtured Heart Training. The Nurtured Heart Approach (NHA) is a relationship-focused approach that consists of a set of strategies that assists children in further developing their self-regulation. It has been found effective with children of all ages. It focuses on transforming the way children perceive themselves, their caregivers and the world around them. Currently I am undergoing the process to become a Nurtured Heart Approach Trainer.
